- All memberships are processed on a calendar year basis with a start date of January 1 and an end date of December 31. Memberships are not prorated.
- Dues paid prior to the conclusion of the Fall SVP Annual Meeting are applied to the current calendar year. Dues paid after the conclusion of the Annual Meeting are applied to the next calendar year. You must be a member of the society for the current calendar year to receive meeting registration discounts.
- Dues payments are non-refundable.

Available to SVP members who are retired from formal employment and have been a member of SVP for thirty years (not necessarily continuously).
Institutional Membership: A Program for Institutions of Developing Nations
To increase access to electronic-based publications and news of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP) for institutions based in areas with developing economies. See Institutional Membership for more details.
Junior Member
Open to individuals between 14-17 years of age (as of January 1 of the year of application).
MUST transition to another form of membership upon turning 18.
A parent or legal guardian must sign this application and agree to the ethics statement and all membership requirements.
Applicant must provide a 250-500 word typed personal statement stating why they are interested in becoming a member of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP).
Applicant must provide a letter of reference from a teacher, SVP Member or other person in the field of paleontology or a related field.
Junior Members do not have voting rights.
Eligible to receive a discounted registration rate for attendance at SVP annual meetings. In order to complete registration for an Annual Meeting, Junior members require the written approval of a parent or guardian to attend.
Donor Memberships
By adding a donation to your membership dues, you’re helping to ensure the continuation and growth of our education and advocacy programs. Contributing, Sustaining, Partner, and Patron members are recognized in the Program Book and on signage at the SVP annual meeting. An acknowledgement of your donation and status as a Donor member will be sent to you. The added donations listed are on top of the Regular Membership fee.
Contributing Member: $100 additional donation
Sustaining Member: $250 additional donation
Partner Member: $500 additional donation
Patron Member: $1000 additional donation
Honorary Membership
A lifetime free membership that is awarded to individuals (both current members and non-members) in recognition of contributions to the field of vertebrate paleontology.
