The Morris F. Skinner Award honors outstanding and sustained contributions to scientific knowledge through the making of important collections of fossil vertebrates — it shall also be made to those persons who encourage, train or teach others toward the same pursuits.
ELIGIBILTY REQUIREMENTS
- Nominees do not need to be members of SVP.
HOW TO APPLY
Submit nominations during the annual nomination period via the SVP online system. You will be asked to provide the following:
- One (1) letter of nomination.
- Letters of support from at least two (2) but no more than four (4) colleagues.
- A photo of the nominee and a brief (300-500 word) bio (these will only be used for the SVP Awards Banquet if the nominee receives this award).
Be sure to name all uploaded files with the nominee's name and a description (e.g. John Smith Photo).
The nomination period for the 2026 Skinner Award has now closed.
