Lapworth Museum of Geology: exhibition and collections tour

The Lapworth Museum of Geology was founded in 1880 and is one of the oldest geological museums in the UK. The museum has the largest and finest collection in the Midlands region. with over 300,000 specimens covering most aspects of geological and palaeontological sciences. Following refurbishment in 2016, the Museum now includes different permanent exhibitions and a dedicated temporary exhibition space.
The tour of the facility will showcase the permanent exhibitions with a focus on the palaeontology of the Midlands regions over the last 500 million years, the temporary exhibition, and a behind-the-scenes look at the collections

100% of the museum is accessible to wheelchair users and there is a wheelchair accessible toilet on site. There is step free access throughout the building via lift(s).

Transportation to the Lapworth Museum is not provided. Attendees are expected to make their way to the museum on their own. The Museum is located on the campus of the University of Birmingham and accessible via train (5-10 mins from the city centre) to the University train station. In addition, different bus lines stop near campus.
