Annual Meeting Accessibility Information

SVP is committed to supporting an accessible and welcoming Annual Meeting experience. The information below summarizes key accessibility features and planning considerations for attendees.

Accessibility Q&A

How can I request accessibility assistance?
Attendees will have an opportunity during registration to share accessibility needs or accommodation requests. If additional needs arise during the meeting, attendees should contact the meeting registration or information desk for assistance.

Is accessible transportation available near the meeting venue?
Accessible public transportation is available near the conference location. Accessible taxis or other connecting transportation may be available, especially when arranged in advance.

Is accessible parking available?
Parking areas are available near accessible entrances. Parking garage fees may apply and may vary depending on activity in the area. Attendees are encouraged to confirm current parking rates and options before arrival.

Are venue entrances accessible?
Visitors with disabilities may use the same primary entrances as other attendees. Accessible entrances include automatic doors.

Are elevators available?
Elevators are located near stair areas and are clearly visible. Elevator controls include accessible-height and tactile/Braille features; however, attendees should note that auditory floor announcements may not be available.

Are restrooms accessible?
Accessible restrooms are located on each floor near the main restroom areas and are clearly marked.

Will there be accessible seating and room layouts?
Meeting rooms will be arranged to allow wheelchair access along aisles and sides of rooms. Seating can also be added in gathering areas such as registration, refreshment areas, and the poster or exhibit hall.

What accessibility features are available in presentation rooms?
Moderators, speakers, and audience members asking questions should use microphones whenever possible. If an attendee brings a sign-language interpreter, the venue can accommodate placement of both the attendee and interpreter to maximize translation of the content. Auto-captioning is not currently planned.

Will the poster hall be accessible?
The poster hall layout is expected to provide sufficient space for wheelchair users to pass between posters. Attendees who may be affected by noise should be aware that the poster hall may have some echo.

What accessibility signage is available?
Room signs include Braille labels at accessible height. Temporary conference signage may vary, and SVP will work with venue staff to add directional signage where needed.

What should attendees know about emergency procedures?
Emergency exits are clearly marked, and emergency alarms include flashing-light components. Conference center staff are available to assist during emergencies and are knowledgeable about routes and exits.

On-Site Accessibility Support

SVP and venue staff will review key attendee routes before and during the meeting, including routes between registration, session rooms, elevators, restrooms, poster areas, and gathering spaces. Additional signage or adjustments may be requested as needed.

Attendees who would like to familiarize themselves with the venue layout before programming begins may ask at the registration or information desk about available options.
