SVP Virtual Meeting
October 26-29, 2023
(Platform to remain open through November 25th)
This year, SVP is hosting a Virtual Meeting that will be held about 5 days after the conclusion of the “in person” meeting. Access to the Virtual Meeting is included with “in person” meeting registration.
If you are unable to attend the “in person” meeting in Cincinnati, you may register for the Virtual Meeting only which is new and improved this year. This year, we will be hosted by the Sternberg Museum’s virtual museum on GatherTown. We are also making some exciting changes to our activities and events offerings.
Live Event (October 26-29)
We will still have posters, but they will be in an organized virtual poster hall you can walk around and explore. There will be set times where poster presenters will be at their posters and available to talk with attendees. We are also keeping the roundtable forums from prior virtual meetings. As for new activity offerings, attendees can look forward to invited keynote talks and special presentations, content-specific expert panel discussions + Q&As, and topical networking sessions.
Continued Platform Access (through November 25th)
Attendees will be able to access networking/social spaces, educational spaces within the museum, the race track portion of the museum, and have up to 10 people at a time in connected virtual worlds such as the virtual rainforest and the Karoo Supergroup Permian paleontology world.
Our goal is to have something unique and valuable to members across the demographics that make up the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology. We look forward to seeing you in the virtual museum!
*The SVP Code of Conduct expectations are in effect for the full period SVP has access to the virtual museum.
