About the Society Awards Past Award Winners 2015 Awardees 2015 (Dawson Grant) Akinobu Watanabe

Aki Watanabe is in the Comparative Biology program at the Richard Gilder Graduate School at the AMNH and is advised by Mark Norell. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Chicago under the mentorship of Paul Sereno and a master's degree at Florida State University with Greg Erickson. By combining techniques from imaging and digital reconstructions, geometric morphometrics, and computational biology, his research investigates the mode and tempo of trait evolution in archosaurs, focusing on the complex interplay between developmental and evolutionary changes in craniofacial anatomy.
