Catherine Badgley is on the faculty of the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan. She has been studying vertebrate paleontology since 1975, when she began her doctoral program at Yale University. Her research interests include biogeography, paleoecology, macroevolution, and taphonomy, with a focus on mammals in terrestrial ecosystems. Her main field areas have been the Miocene, Siwalik sequence of Pakistan; the early Eocene record of the Clark’s Fork Basin, Wyoming; and currently, the Miocene Barstow Formation of the Mojave Desert, California. Her current research concerns the influence of landscape history on the ecology and evolution of mammals.
