Note the NEW sequence of days for the SVP 70th Anniversary Meeting is:
Sunday through Wednesday and will follow the same flow of events as in past years:
- the first day, Sunday, October 10, will include sessions and the Welcome Reception
- the last day, Wednesday, October 13, will include sessions and the Awards Event
- field trips will be held before and after the meeting as usual

The Section of Vertebrate Paleontology at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History is excited to host the annual meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology in Pittsburgh in 2010. This meeting celebrates the 70th anniversary of the SVP, and the official title for the meeting this year will be "SVP 70th Anniversary Meeting."
From its founding in 1895 right up to the present day, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History has played a vital role in the development of vertebrate paleontology in North America. The SVP 70th Anniversary Meeting represents a homecoming for the Society, and it provides us with the opportunity to showcase the museum's recently renovated Mesozoic gallery, Dinosaurs in their Time.

Rates: SVP has negotiated discounted rates with The Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh of $149 USD single/double, $169 triple and $189 USD quad occupancy. All rates are subject to federal, state and local taxes. The conference rate is available (as space permits) three days before and three days after the official dates of the conference.

Reservations
Reservations must be made by September 20, 2010; afterward the discounted room rate may not apply. To reserve a room call toll free in North America, +1-800-937-8461, international attendees, dial +1-412-281-3700. Mention you are with SVP to receive the discounted rate. All reservations require a first night deposit or a guarantee with a major credit card. Your credit card will not be charged prior to your arrival. Individual guest room deposits will be refunded if reservations are cancelled 48 hours (2 days) prior to the day of your arrival.

Roommate Service
For assistance in finding a roommate, contact Christine Meehan at SVP headquarters at cmeehan@vertpaleo.org. We will put you in contact with another registrant looking for a roommate. It is your responsibility to contact the roommate you are paired with and make your reservation with the hotel directly. When e-mailing, be sure to include your gender, city and country you reside in and smoking preference so we can try to find suitable matches.
