I Forum of Vertebrate Paleontology from the Quaternary of northeastern Brazil (I QUATERNE)

This forum aims to promote the integration of researchers and students interested in developing geo-paleontological research on fossil vertebrates from the Quaternary deposits of northeastern Brazil. The forum will present and discuss the state of the art, ongoing researches and future perspectives on issues that have dawned on the paleontology of the region, such as: (i) Taphonomy of tank deposits; (ii) Taphonomy of cave deposits; (iii) Geochronological positioning of vertebrate faunas of northeastern deposits; (iv) Paleopathology in Quaternary mammals; (v) Paleoecological models for the Brazilian Intertropical Region; (vi) Extinction of the South American Pleistocene megafauna; and (vii) Conservation of the geo-paleontological heritage. A critical discussion of those issues will contribute to the resolution of issues related to vertebrate paleontology from the Quaternary of the Brazilian Intertropical Region and encourage mutual collaboration of researchers and students in the creation of multidisciplinary projects.
