U.S. Forest Service announces comment period for rules relating to Paleontological Resources Preservation

The U. S. Forest Service has developed regulations in response to the Paleontological Resources Preservation Act (PRPA).  The proposed regulations were published in the Federal Register (https://www.federalregister.gov/) on May 23rd, and will be open for comments for 60 days (comment period ends July 22nd).  Instructions for submitting comments, as well as contact information, are specified at the beginning of the Federal Register Notice.  To view the proposed rules go to: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2013/05/23/2013-12173/paleontological-resources-preservation. This set of proposed regulation applies to public lands managed by the USDA Forest Service in the United States.
