Hagerman National Fossil Beds Fundraiser for African Students

February 3, 2017
Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is holding a fundraising campaign to send an East African student to the Koobi Fora Field School in Kenya. The field school, which covers paleontology, archaeology, and geology, is held at one of the worlds most important fossil localities for understanding hominin evolution and African ecosystem change. Hagerman is a National Park Service "sister park" to Sibiloi National Park, where many fossil outcrops of the Koobi Fora Formation occur.
