Meeting Location
The 76th Annual Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology will take place at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City.  The Grand America Hotel is conveniently located just 10 minutes from the Salt Lake International Airport. Framed by the Wasatch and Oquirrh Mountain Ranges, the Grand America is situated on 10 landscaped acres in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City, within walking distance of shopping, restaurants, light rail, nightlife, cultural, and sporting events.

General Information

Banking and Foreign Exchange
The official currency in the United States is US Dollars. The US Dollar ($) is divided into 100 cents; notes are in denominations of $100, 50, 20, 10, 5, and 1. Banking hours in the United States are generally Monday through Friday, 09:00 – 17:00. A few banks are open on Saturdays as well. You can withdraw money from ATM bank machines using your credit card and make purchases in stores and restaurants. Signs display accepted credit cards or you can ask the retailer. Check with your local financial institution to verify if you are able to use your home bank card or credit card prior to travel.

Child Care
A Family Room is available for use daily during session hours. The Family Room is not staffed; parents and guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of their children and personal belongings. For information regarding babysitting services, please check with the concierge desk at the Grand America Hotel. Parents and guardians are required to perform their own reference checks and arrange child care independently. SVP/FASEB are not responsible for child care or the quality of care provided.

Transportation to Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City International Airport is one of the West's major hubs, served by 10 airlines and their affiliates offering over 650 scheduled flights per day. Transportation in Salt Lake City
Transportation in Salt Lake City consists of a wide network of roads, an extensive bus system, a light rail system, and a recently introduced commuter rail line. Beginning April 15, 2013 the Utah Transit Authority offers Trax Light-Rail service from the Airport to downtown Salt Lake. Riders can board at the station and Welcome Center just outside terminal one. Fare is $2.50 and trains run every 15 minutes. Weekday service begins at 5:30 am and runs until 11:30 pm.
